Brownies

Through a variety of hands-on activities, outdoor adventures, creative projects, badge work and community service, girls develop confidence, independence and essential life skills while making friends and creating meaningful memories.

Brownies provides a safe and supportive environment for girls to try new things, discover their strengths and learn the importance of teamwork, kindness, responsibility, leadership and empathy.

Objectives

1. Personal Development: To build girls' confidence, independence, resilience and self-reliance through fun activities, challenges and new experiences. 

2. Teamwork and Leadership: To develop communication, collaboration and leadership skills by encouraging girls to work together, take on different roles and support one another. 

3. Community Engagement: To nurture a spirit of kindness and service by encouraging girls to contribute positively to their school, community and environment. 

4. Skill Acquisition: To provide opportunities for girls to discover and develop practical skills through crafts, outdoor activities, problem-solving and other hands-on experiences. 

Curriculum and Activities

1. Skill Building:

Girls learn a variety of practical and creative skills through engaging activities.

• Crafts and Hobbies: Making badges, decorating and creating personalised items to encourage creativity and develop fine motor skills.

• Outdoor Skills: Hiking, camping and navigation activities where girls learn outdoor safety, teamwork and environmental stewardship.

• Problem-Solving: Fun challenges and activities that encourage girls to think creatively, make decisions and overcome obstacles.

2. Community Service:

Brownies encourages girls to look beyond themselves and make a positive difference in their community.

• Service Projects: Participating in charity drives, cleaning up local parks and assisting at community events.

• Social Responsibility: Learning about environmental awareness, caring for their surroundings and supporting local causes.

3. Leadership and Teamwork:

Girls develop confidence and learn to work effectively with others through:

• Group Challenges: Games and activities that require communication, collaboration, problem-solving and teamwork.

• Leadership Opportunities: Taking on roles such as leading activities, supporting younger peers or organising events, helping girls become confident leaders.

4. Badge Work:

Girls work towards achievement badges in areas such as sports, arts, outdoor activities and community service. Badge work gives girls clear goals to work towards while encouraging them to explore new interests and celebrate their achievements.

5. Character Education:

Through discussions, stories, role-playing and real-life experiences, girls learn how to put positive values into action.
