Art & Pottery
The Art and Pottery CCA provides students with a creative and hands-on platform to explore and develop their artistic talents

Through a combination of digital art, visual art, craft-making and pottery, students are given opportunities to experiment with different materials, techniques and artistic processes.
The CCA aims to nurture creativity, develop artistic skills and encourage students to express their ideas confidently through the arts.

Curriculum and Activities
1. Digital Art
Students will explore various forms of digital art and technology, including:
Digital drawing and illustration
Photography
Stop-motion animation
Other digital art-making processes and applications
2. Visual and Fine Arts
Students will engage in individual and collaborative art projects that allow them to experiment with different materials, techniques and styles. Activities may include:
Drawing and painting
Craft-making
Mixed-media art
Collaborative art projects
Artwork for school exhibitions and community events
Development of personal art portfolios
3. Pottery and Ceramics
Students will gain hands-on experience in clay and pottery through:
Hand-building techniques: Pinching, coiling and slab construction
Surface decoration: Exploring patterns, textures and decorative techniques
Glazing: Learning how to apply glazes to enhance and finish their pottery pieces
Kiln firing: Understanding the basic processes and safety considerations involved in firing clay
4. Art Exhibitions and Showcases
Students will have opportunities to showcase their artwork and pottery through:
School exhibitions and displays
External exhibitions and art events
Community projects and showcases
These opportunities allow students to share their creative work, develop confidence in presenting their ideas and receive feedback from others.
5. Art Appreciation and Critique
Students will develop a deeper understanding of art through:
Art appreciation: Exploring different artists, art movements, cultures and artistic traditions
Art critique: Discussing and reflecting on their own work and the work of others
Reflection: Evaluating their creative processes and identifying areas for improvement

The CCA seeks to nurture confident, creative and reflective learners who appreciate the arts and are able to express themselves meaningfully through their creative work.
